MEET THE MAKER: Nick Grilanc

Who are you and what do you make?
I'm Nick Grilanc and I run a small scale furniture making business called Fable Furniture. I create one off pieces from mostly recycled or reclaimed solid wood. I focus on practicality and timeless design in an attempt to create objects that last.

What do you enjoy making the most?

Things that people need and will cherish. To me the object itself is not as important as the intention and purpose behind it.

Nick’s Kindle Cabinet made from Tasmanian Blackwood and Split Cypress.

Nick’s Juniper coffee table constructed with Tasmanian Blackwood and Spotted gum.

What do the Blue Mountains mean to you?

Home, being born here and having lived through many different phases of life in the Blue Mountains it will always be home.

What can we expect to find of yours at the Summertide Makers Market?

I will be bringing some small batch made items to the Summertide Makers Market. Jewelry boxes, book stands and dough trays, all practical but beautiful objects that are made to last.

The Summertide Makers Market will be held on Sunday 4th December at Lyttleton Stores Co-op.
