Meet Monique and Janine, Owners of Pretty Frocking Vintage
Who are you?
Pretty Frocking Vintage is a sisters duo hailing from Dharug country of the Blue Mountains, Sydney. We are lovers of vintage and secondhand.
How did Pretty Frocking Vintage begin?
Pretty Frocking Vintage started after Monique had her first child and was looking to do something she loved, earn money, and fit around mum life. Janine jumped on board as she was between jobs. We both love hanging out together and at markets, so it just made sense! We have now been going fit 5 years and haven’t looked back.
What excites you the most about what you do?
Our market style is a direct extension of our personal wardrobe style. We believe that vintage fashion should not cost the earth. We love second hand, and giving new life and love to vintage pieces. We love seeing the excitement people have when they find a dream piece of vintage clothing and know it’s going to be worn and loved again.
What can we expect to find of yours at the Thread Fair?
Pretty Frocking Vintage stock clothing and accessories from circa 1940s-1990s, in a range of styles and from across the globe. We stock sizes 6-20+ and try to have something for everyone. Vintage labels we love include Coogi, Ken Done, Oroton, Van Roth, Fontana Classics, and our personal fave, 80s Katies.
Catch Monique and Janine at our Thread Fair on Sunday 2nd April, 10am-3pm.
